Change DNS on Spectrum RAC2V1K

Learn how to configure CleanBrowsing DNS on your Spectrum RAC2V1K router, including both IPv4 and IPv6 DNS settings.

Step 1: Access the Router

Access your router by navigating to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser. If this address does not work, consult our generic router guide for help finding your router's IP address.

Step 2: Navigate to IPv4 DNS Section

Select Advanced from the main navigation menu, which defaults to the Internet tab. Scroll down to locate the DNS configuration area. You will see an option labeled Connect to DNS Server -- select NO to make the input fields editable rather than using your ISP's default servers.

Enter the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses:

  • Primary DNS: 185.228.168.168
  • Secondary DNS: 185.228.169.168

Click Apply to save.

Step 3: Update IPv6 DNS Values

Access the menu toggle on the left sidebar and select IPv6. Find the IPv6 DNS Settings section (set to YES by default). Change this to No to reveal the DNS input fields. Enter your preferred IPv6 DNS values and click Apply.

Step 4: Verify Configuration

Test your configuration using DNS Leak Test by running the Standard Test. Results should display CleanBrowsing in the response. Clear your local DNS cache and browser cache to ensure changes take effect within 10-15 minutes.
