Configure CleanBrowsing DNS on a Netgear Nighthawk Router

Learn how to change the DNS settings on your Netgear Nighthawk router to use CleanBrowsing. This guide covers the specific steps for Nighthawk models to enable network-wide content filtering.

Step 1: Access the Router

Open your web browser and navigate to routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1. Log in with your administrator credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to DNS Settings

Click the "Internet" option from the left menu. Scroll down to locate the DNS section labeled "Domain Name Server (DNS) Address."

Step 3: Update DNS Settings

Select "Use These DNS Servers" and enter the following CleanBrowsing DNS addresses:

  • Primary DNS: 185.228.168.168
  • Secondary DNS: 185.228.169.168

Note: If you have a paid CleanBrowsing plan, use the DNS IPs provided in your dashboard instead.

Step 4: Save Changes

Click "Apply" to save your configuration and activate CleanBrowsing DNS on your network.
