Change DNS on Huawei HG8240/HG8245/HG8247

Learn how to configure CleanBrowsing DNS on your Huawei HG8240, HG8245, or HG8247 router to enable content filtering for your home network.

Step 1: Access the Router

Access your router's configuration interface by entering 192.168.100.1 in your web browser's address bar. You will need to provide administrator login credentials to proceed.

Step 2: Navigate to DNS Settings

Once logged in, go to the LAN section and select DHCP Server Configuration from the menu.

Step 3: Configure DNS

Enable the primary DHCP server by checking the corresponding box. Also check Enable DHCP L2Relay (which may alternatively be labeled as just "DHCP Relay").

Input the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses into the DNS server fields:

  • Primary DNS: 185.228.168.168
  • Secondary DNS: 185.228.169.168

These are the free CleanBrowsing Family filter IPs. If you have a paid subscription, use the custom DNS addresses provided with your account instead.

Click Save to apply the changes.
