Change DNS on Frontier NVG468MQ

Learn how to configure CleanBrowsing DNS on your Frontier NVG468MQ router to enable content filtering for your home network.

Step 1: Login to Router Administrative Panel

Access your router's settings by navigating to http://192.168.254.254/cgi-bin/connconfig.ha in your web browser. If your router uses a different IP address, substitute that accordingly. You will find login credentials on the back of your device.

Step 2: Update DNS Addresses

Locate the Connection Settings option, typically found under an Advanced menu. Once there, modify the DNS addresses:

  • Primary DNS: 185.228.168.168
  • Secondary DNS: 185.228.169.168

If you have a paid CleanBrowsing plan, use the DNS IPs provided in your account dashboard instead.

Step 3: Save and Verify

Click the Apply button to save your modifications. The system may require several minutes to update your device's DHCP lease, though disabling and re-enabling WiFi accelerates this process.

Test your setup by attempting to visit badexample.com -- you should receive a domain-not-found error, confirming successful filtering activation.
