Configure CleanBrowsing DNS on a D-Link DSL-225 Router

Learn how to change the DNS settings on your D-Link DSL-225 router to use CleanBrowsing. This guide covers the specific steps for the DSL-225 model to enable network-wide content filtering.

Step 1: Access the Router

Open your web browser and navigate to your router's local IP address, typically 10.0.0.138. Log in with your administrator credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to DNS Settings

Click the "Advanced" menu tab, then select "DNS" from the sidebar options. The DNS settings are located in the Dynamic IP (DHCP) Internet Connection Type section.

Step 3: Configure DNS Servers

Enable "Use the following Static DNS IP address" and enter the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses:

  • Primary DNS: 185.228.168.168
  • Secondary DNS: 185.228.169.168

Note: If you have a paid CleanBrowsing plan, use the DNS IPs provided in your dashboard instead.

Step 4: Save and Reboot

Click "Apply/Save" and reboot the router to activate the changes. The router restart is required for the new DNS settings to take effect.
