Change DNS on CenturyLink ZyXEL PK5001Z

Learn how to configure CleanBrowsing DNS on your CenturyLink ZyXEL PK5001Z router (also known as M1000, C1000, and W1000) to enable content filtering.

Step 1: Access the Router

Navigate to http://192.168.1.1/ in your browser and authenticate as the administrator to access the router's configuration interface.

Step 2: Navigate to Advanced Setup Menu

Select the Advanced Setup option from the main menu to access additional configuration settings.

Step 3: Deconflict WAN DNS and DHCP DNS

Access the WAN IP Address menu and configure the WAN DNS to obtain dynamically to prevent conflicts between WAN and DHCP settings.

Step 4: Change Your DNS

Go to DHCP Settings, locate the DNS section, and set it to static. Enter the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses:

  • DNS Server 1: 185.228.168.168
  • DNS Server 2: 185.228.169.168

If you have a paid CleanBrowsing plan, use your account-specific DNS IPs instead.

Click Apply to save the configuration changes.
