Change DNS on CenturyLink Actiontec Q1000

Learn how to configure CleanBrowsing DNS on your CenturyLink Actiontec Q1000 router to enable content filtering for your home network.

Step 1: Access the Router

Log into your router's browser-based utility by entering 192.168.0.1 (or your default configuration IP) into a browser.

Step 2: Navigate to Advanced Setup Menu

Select the Advanced Setup option from the main menu.

Step 3: Navigate to WAN Settings

Click WAN Settings from the Broadband Settings / IP Addressing section.

Step 4: Change Your DNS Type

Scroll down to 4. Set the DNS Type then select Static DNS. Enter the CleanBrowsing DNS addresses:

  • First DNS Resolver Address: 185.228.168.168
  • Second DNS Resolver Address: 185.228.169.168

If you have a paid CleanBrowsing plan, use the DNS IPs provided in your account instead.

Click Apply to save your settings.
