Configure CleanBrowsing with Mosyle (DoT)

Learn how to set up DNS-over-TLS (DoT) with Mosyle MDM to deploy CleanBrowsing's encrypted DNS filtering across your managed Apple devices. Requires iOS 14 or later.

Step 1: Access DNS Filter

Log in to your Mosyle management console and navigate to the Management menu. Click on DNS Filter to access the DNS filtering configuration options.

Step 2: Create a New Profile

Click the option to create a new DNS filtering profile. This will open a configuration form where you can set up your CleanBrowsing DoT connection.

Step 3: Configure DNS Settings

In the profile configuration:

  • Select TLS as the DNS protocol type.
  • Enter the custom DoT URL provided in your CleanBrowsing account settings. You can find this URL by logging in to my.cleanbrowsing.org/dashboard and navigating to your network settings.

Note: The custom TLS URL is unique to your account. Make sure to retrieve it from your CleanBrowsing dashboard before proceeding.

Step 4: Assign Profile

At the bottom of the settings page, assign the profile to the appropriate devices or user groups. You can target specific device groups or apply it organization-wide.

Step 5: Enable Configuration

Enable the newly created profile to deploy the DoT DNS filtering configuration across your managed devices. The settings will be pushed to assigned devices automatically.

Note: This integration requires iOS 14 or later. If you need an alternative configuration method, see the Mosyle General Proxy guide.
