CleanBrowsing is a DNS-based content filtering service that offers a safe way to browse the web without surprises. It intercepts domain requests and filter sites that should be blocked, based on your requirements. Our free family filter, for example, blocks adult content, while still allowing Google, Youtube, Bing, DuckDuckGo and the rest of the web to load safely.
CleanBrowsing offers 3 Free filters and Paid options.
Our free filters are comprised of three predefined filters for global consumption (Security, Adult, and Family). The Family filter blocks adult / obscene content and applies Safe Search filters to Google, Bing, Yandex, etc. The security filter, however, only focuses on restricting access to malicious activity.
The paid filters give you full control on what should be blocked. You can pick from 14 predefined filters (Adult, Gaming, Gambling, Torrents, Weapons, Social Network, etc), but also make your own rules and block/allow any domains you wish. Custom block pages can also be created on the Pro plans and all the plans allow for network visibility (see which sites are being visited from your network).
Our Security DNS filter blocks phishing, spam and malicious domains. It's an excellent first layer of protection for your network. More details.
Our Adult DNS filter blocks access to pornographic and obscene content, as well as everything blocked by the Security filter. It enforces Safe Search on Google, YouTube, DuckDuckGo and Bing. More details.
Our Family DNS filter is the used by parents, schools, churches and advocacy groups to protect users of all ages from adult and obscene content. It also prevents the use of proxies and VPNs to circumvent the filters. More details
In addition to our free filters, we offer paid options that provide more granular configurations, network visibility and advanced features.
Thousands of businesses, churches, schools and families are using CleanBrowsing. Here's what some of them have to say.
I use https://t.co/I7qh2dXoMG on all of our devices in the house. None of my kids have smartphones so I'm not sure how good it works there.— Scott DeLuzio (@scottdeluzio) August 15, 2019
It's super easy to set up at home though because it can be set up at the WiFi router to protect everything that connects to it.
I have this turned on my home network. As a father of three boys it's become almost necessary to protect them from nefarious websites that prey on kids in particular. I really appreciate @cleanbrowsing— Tadd. (@taddmencer) April 25, 2019
Kudos to @CleanBrowsing - I have long recommended whole network filtering and now CleanBrowsing has made it even better. #ParentingHack #InternetSafety #FamilySafety #Parenting https://t.co/svFEth4VOA pic.twitter.com/cqtdCIlK15— SensibleCyberParent (@SensCyberParent) March 13, 2019
So far in my tests @cleanbrowsing beats out the competition for keeping your family safe. I'd vote #1 Alternative DNS— Darin Cawthon 🚗💨 (@DarinCawthon) January 6, 2019
Protect #children against inappropriate content #online (porn, nudity, obscene, harmful to minors, explicit/graphic content and malicious domains) via @cleanbrowsing:— Dimitris Papapetros (@0xDimitris) April 3, 2018
Inside the #DNS (or Network) settings, change the DNS server to the value: 220.127.116.11 (or 18.104.22.168).
Just switched my home DNS to use @cleanbrowsing. In addition to standard DNS, they also support DNSCrypt, DNS over HTTPS, and DNS over TLS. 🔒— MICHAEL JACKSON (@mjackson) October 9, 2018
*And* their youtube + google search filters actually work. 🔥

“DNS can be an important part of your security and act as a first line of defense against phishing and other malicious activity. CleanBrowsing was the #1 provider in my tests , followed by Quad9 and OpenDNS in second (they did well in…” — Nykolas Z https://t.co/BdvyIhgcDa— mr.smashy (@THESMASHY) June 6, 2018
This is fantastic news! CleanBrowsing is the best parental control system I’ve tried so far > RT @cleanbrowsing: DNSCrypt support now available in beta for CleanBrowsing.— Frank Denis (@jedisct1) February 16, 2018

*Thanks @jedisct1 for the help.
If you have little ones, @cleanbrowsing is a high performing, free way to keep their eyes away from things they shouldn't see online, whatever the device they're using. Really great to see an option for families and schools that can't afford expensive software to do this. 👏 https://t.co/abL24epeHu— Angelique Medina (@bitprints) October 12, 2018
The best part about CleanBrowsing is that it doesn't require software installation on your device or network to work. The service can be applied to your network via a DNS change, either at the router or on the machine.
Different from other internet safety solutions, CleanBrowsing works with all major websites and search providers like YouTube, Google, and Bing! Even better, you may continue to use your browser of choice knowing the service cannot be disabled at the browser level.
CleanBrowsing places special emphasis on kids and parents. This means that we deploy Safe Search whenever it's available by the service provider by default. This ensures that search results (including YouTube) are stripped of malicious or obscene content when possible.
