🛑 Safari Private Mode Bypasses CleanBrowsing

Apple introduced a feature in recent iOS versions called Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection. When enabled, this feature allows Safari (especially in Private Browsing mode) to bypass local and network-level DNS settings — including CleanBrowsing filters.

🛡️ CleanBrowsing: Internet Safety Made Simple

Filter harmful websites, block adult content, and protect your entire network. All with fast, privacy-respecting DNS.

This means some websites may be accessible even when CleanBrowsing is configured correctly.

✅ How to Fix It

To ensure CleanBrowsing filtering works as expected:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device
  2. Scroll down and tap Safari
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Advanced
  4. Tap Advanced Privacy
  5. Turn off Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection

ℹ️ What This Does

Disabling this option restores normal DNS behavior in Safari’s Private mode, allowing CleanBrowsing filters to apply correctly.
