There are a few platforms and services where using CleanBrowsing can be problematic because of how DNS is supported. Below is a list of the platforms we know of:
Comcast Xfinity
If you are trying to use CleanBrowsing on Comcast Xfinity and it doesn’t seem to be working, the reason might be their Protected Browsing option hijacking your DNS. It prevents any other DNS from working, except their own.

Avast
Avast! Anti-Virus, which includes a “Real Site” protection offering which Hijacks your DNS.
Go to Settings and disable this component for CleanBrowsing to work. You won’t lose any protection as all our filters include the security-filter by default (that blocks phishing, malware, etc).
AT&T
Depending on the router AT&T provided, you might not be able to change DNS in their router.

EERO Secure
If EERO Secure is enabled on your EERO device you will have an issue configuring CleanBrowsing. When this feature is enabled all non-VPN traffic is tunneled through their own DNS provider. This will hijack all network traffic, overriding whatever DNS is set on your network.
T-Mobile and Affiliate Networks
If using the T-Mobile network you will not be able to use. DNS-over-HTTPS (DOH), you will be required to use DNS-over-TLS (DOT). We have been trying to coordinate with the T-Mobile team, but they are unrespensive. They are actively blocking DOH-based services. This effects all our apps. Their block results in your internet being inaccessible when on the cellular network if the app is enabled.
The new version of the Android app should address this, and iOS users should defer to using mobile.config files on their devices. You can find mobile.config files in your paid account and on the free filters page.
