Android version 9 introduced a new native feature allows a user to encrypt DNS using the DNS-over-TLS (DOT) protocol. The video below shows how to access and enable this feature on most Android OS’ that are 9 or greater.
Manually Configure Private DNS on Android
Step 1: Private DNS
Go to Settings->Network->Advanced and look for the Private DNS option.
Step 2: Add the Private DNS hostname
In there, you will be able to add the Private DNS hostname of your choice. For the Free Filters, you have 3 choices:
Family Filter: family-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org
Adult Filter: adult-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org
Security Filter: security-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org
